SkillCompass is a tech mentorship platform designed specifically for graduating engineers and early-career professionals looking to break into the IT industry. We offer free community Q&A sessions and premium 1:1 mentorship with experienced industry professionals from top tech companies.
Our mentors are experienced professionals working at leading tech companies like Microsoft, Fortune 500 companies, and other top organizations. They have 10-17+ years of industry experience and are passionate about helping the next generation of engineers succeed.
While we primarily focus on fresh graduates and final-year students, our services are open to anyone looking to transition into tech or advance their early career. Whether you're a career switcher, self-taught developer, or someone with a few years of experience looking to level up, we're here to help.

🎓 Free Sessions

Simply register for the next session through our website. Click the "Register for Free" button on the homepage, and you'll be directed to our registration page. You'll receive a confirmation email with the session link and details.
We typically host bi-weekly sessions on Saturdays. However, the schedule may vary based on mentor availability and special events. Check our homepage for the countdown to the next session and make sure to register early!
Our free sessions cover a wide range of topics including resume building, DSA preparation, system design basics, career roadmaps, interview tips, salary negotiation, portfolio projects, and networking. The sessions are Q&A format, so you can ask questions specific to your situation.
Sessions may be recorded for internal purposes, but recordings are not typically shared publicly. We encourage you to attend live sessions to participate in the Q&A and get your specific questions answered.

👨‍🏫 1:1 Mentorship

After you sign up, we'll match you with a mentor based on your goals, interests, and the mentor's expertise. You'll have scheduled video calls where you can discuss anything from career advice and resume reviews to mock interviews and technical guidance. Sessions are typically 45-60 minutes.
Please contact us for current pricing. We offer both single sessions and package deals for ongoing mentorship. We strive to keep our pricing accessible while ensuring quality mentorship from experienced professionals.
Our 1:1 mentorship includes: personalized mock interviews, detailed resume reviews, custom career roadmaps, ongoing chat support between sessions, and actionable feedback tailored to your goals. The exact offerings may vary based on your package and mentor specialization.
Yes! We'll recommend mentors based on your goals and interests, but you have the final say. If you want to work with a specific mentor or switch mentors, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate your preference.
We offer a satisfaction guarantee for your first session. If you're not happy, we'll offer a full refund or match you with a different mentor. Please see our Refund Policy for complete details.

🔧 Technical & Booking

We primarily use Google Meet or Zoom for our sessions. You'll receive a meeting link in your confirmation email. Make sure you have a stable internet connection, a working microphone, and optionally a camera.
You can reschedule a session with at least 24 hours notice. Simply contact us through our contact form or reply to your booking confirmation email with your preferred alternative times.
Free group sessions are typically scheduled in IST (Indian Standard Time) to accommodate our primary audience. For 1:1 mentorship, we work with you to find a time that works across time zones.

🌟 Becoming a Mentor

We're always looking for experienced professionals who want to give back! If you have 5+ years of industry experience and are passionate about helping early-career engineers, please reach out through our contact form and select "Becoming a Mentor" as your interest.
We look for mentors with: at least 5 years of relevant industry experience, strong communication skills, patience and genuine interest in helping others, and the ability to commit to at least 2-4 hours per month. Prior mentoring experience is a plus but not required.
